Newfoundland and Labrador Spending Probe keeps Growing
Liberals will be liberals.
It seems that even the provincial liberals of the country are being uncovered for their "$3.9-million in questionable government spending" in the province. If any of you have a short memory, this is a deja vu of what has happened to the federal liberals just recently. The provincial probe "has found that Mr. Byrne, former Liberal cabinet minister Jim Walsh, current Liberal member Wally Andersen and New Democrat Randy Collins overspent their constituency allowances by $1.1-million." This leaves us to the conclusion that the "a fool and his money are soon parted" adage holds true even for government. When governments make it their policy to collect taxes that are not needed, there will be stunted growth in the economy and room for corruption due to the gluttonous size of the ruling power. The adage is also true of "pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered" and that liberal governments always die of corruption due to pillaging its citizens through taxation as the people living in these jurisdictions always demand justice. I guess liberals will be liberals, this could be the new adage of the ages. "Premier Danny Williams's decision that allowed the Auditor-General to examine the House of Assembly's finances" is the first step in finding what liberals fear the most, the truth!
