Miller Eyes Parking Lot Tax
Socialist Capers run Awry.
As soon as Mayor Miller is "freshly armed with new taxing powers by Queen's Park", the Mayor of Toronto is again trying to put a hamper on economic well being in the city. With political patronage from the provincial liberals, the socialist Miller will try to take money from people who try to earn it just for his own personal political gain. How can he say that he is repersenting all of Toronto when just 22% who work in Toronto use public transportation to get there. For the rest of us, this means that we must feel Miller's wrath every time we enter the city. In the article, Miller claims that all of this is because of climate change. Canada's role in the environment has been touched on "Time for the Right" before but have not discussed the liberal fad of environmentalism before and its ravages on private commerce. In the main article defending the proposed tax, Miller has claimed that this tax is due to "the survey, by the environmental groups Germanwatch and Climate Action Network-Europe, (that) ranked Canada in 51st place, between Thailand and Kazakhstan, but ahead of the United States and China." The results of the survey are here with Sweden ranking on top. This country was ranked on top because "In Stockholm, one-quarter of city buses run on ethanol or biogas." Also becuase the Swedish government has been trying to stamp out all private ownership of cars to replace with public transport. This has been nothing short of socialist capers run awry by trying to get rid of all private ownership of automobiles in the name of the "environment" in order to eliminate free will and enterprise and settle for whatever someone else will give us. Mayor Miller is quoted in the article by stating "new strategies" will be used to deal with this problem. There are two lessons to take from this article, the first is that "new taxing powers" should never be given to anyone, especially socialists, the second is that in this example, Miller is trying to win over provincial liberal friends by attempting to take away all cars in Toronto.
